After taking a good hard look at what my feelings are on the matter of Same Sex Marriages, along with Sexual Reassignments and Homosexuality in general; my conclusion may come as a bit of a shock to you. “True!” I would like to say that I’m an accepting soul. However, I guess you could say that my once running into a person who, “I used to know when she was a guy,” was the final straw for me.
“Yeah!” I know. Our government has written Same Sex Marriage into law; passing it off as normal for two people of the same sex to be married, even here in Sussex County NJ. However, I have to honestly ask, “Is it really all that normal?”
Seriously; just think about it for a second. If people are born homosexuals doesn’t that mean that many of us are born adulterers, too? Why is having sex with someone of the same sex right, while having sex with someone else’s wife or husband is so wrong? After all, if it’s possible for Homosexuals to just be made that way then Adulterers are made that way too, “Right?”
Although I would never persecute anyone who engages in Homosexual activity, “It is a behavior that is unacceptable to me.” Therefore you won’t catch me dead supporting legislation for Gay Marriage or Equal Rights for individuals who have decided in their middle forties that they would rather be a woman after years of being a father, husband or both. Only in rare cases should a sexual reassignment ever even be considered and yet science has made it possible; leaving a lot of folks thinking that messing with nature in this manner is perfectly ok.
Alcoholics don’t get equal rights under the law, even though there is some solid genetic evidence that DNA does play a role in Alcoholism. Adultery comes with both moral and legal consequences, too. “Yet,” folks in the good old USA feel that making same sex marriages legal “under the law” is an achievement that we can all be proud of? “Hello?”
I believe that sexual orientation is a choice; based upon the fact that homosexual activity is a part of cultures like that of the Sambia, Etoro and even certain factions in Afghanistan. Try running some searches on Google or Bing using a search phrase like, “Tribes that practice Homosexuality,” and you will clearly understand why my belief is, “We are the way we are because we largely choose to be.” In short; Homosexuality and Heterosexuality can clearly be taught if one has a mind to conform to a specific culture’s rules and rituals.
Sure, it is possible that one might feel a physical attraction towards a member of the same sex. Just like it is possible that a man or woman might feel a physical attraction towards someone other than their significant other. However, “It doesn’t mean it is ok to act on these physical or even emotional attractions.” That is why God gave us free will. We don’t have to be slaves to our impulses and other feelings, “Unless we choose to be.”
This is my belief. If it’s wrong than I’m sure my maker will let me know when we finally meet.
However, I doubt he’s going to have an issue with what I’ve written here on homosexuality or even the stuff I’ve written about Sexual Reassignment. “Why?” Because he has written the one book that, in one way or another, is the source of inspiration for just about every bestselling author of Self-Help material. It’s called, “The Bible,” by God; copyright yet to be determined, “No rights reserved.”
