Neven Paar

Aries Glyph and Constellation

Saturday, August 29, 2026: 7:36 AM: I finished reading The Magus: Kundalini and the Golden Dawn: A Complete System of Magick That Bridges Eastern Spirituality and the Western Mysteries. The book, written by Neven Paar, answered a few questions for me, though I have no desire to learn the Golden Dawn system. I do appreciate the insights I got from the book, though.

Neven Paar’s work sparked ideas for my own book and confirmed a long-held suspicion about the Astral Plane, since I was kicked off it upon first access. Apparently, my thinking that I can influence in real time by going there isn’t necessarily wrong. Also, he gave me a handy meditation format to work with regarding the four elements and their corresponding chakras in the body.

When relaxing the body during meditation, the things to keep in mind and the steps are as follows:

  • Earth equals Root Chakra: Bring conscious awareness to this point first. Simultaneously, imagine being in nature and experiencing all things natural as part of that experience. The affirmation statement to be vibrated through the body as spoken out loud would be, “I am physically grounded in nature.”
  • Air equals Heart Chakra: Bring conscious awareness to this point next. Imagine flying, feeling and hearing the wind. The corresponding statement to be spoken and allowed to vibrate through the body as much as possible would be, “I am mentally grounded by air.”
  • Emotion equals Sacral Chakra: Move conscious awareness to this point. While consciously there, imagine everything to do with interacting with water. The statement to vibrate while doing this is, “I am emotionally grounded by water.”
  • Fire equals Solar Plexus: Finally, while having shifted conscious awareness to this chakra of the body, imagine interacting with fire, even if it is just sitting near one. Let the physical senses take in fire’s light and heat, plus whatever else can be imagined that is pleasant to experience in imagination. The statement to be vibrated here would be, “I am grounded in my personal power by fire.”

Of course, the above formula doesn’t appear this way in Neven Paar’s book at all. But while he was talking about the chakras in the body and their order in correlation with the four elements, the above came to me while listening. Interestingly enough, too, is the fact that when I run the above formula, I can feel energy flowing up through my neck and shoulders into the top of my head as I get closer to the finish.

The book confirmed for me, too, that allowing the voice to vibrate through the body while speaking out loud during my meditations certainly can be effective. I began to suspect this months ago, but it’s nice to see it in written words by someone else.

As far as the rest of the book goes, it’s a great guide for anyone looking to get into performing ritual magic for the purpose of spiritual evolution. Personally, I have no desire to learn the Golden Dawn system. But I most certainly will look through the book again at some point for additional inspiration.
