Saturday, August 29, 2026: 9:05 PM: Mom’s birthday would have been on the 19th. Yesterday would have marked the one-year anniversary of her cremains being committed to the Atlantic Ocean off Delaware’s Rehoboth Beach.
I haven’t seen her in a dream for a while now. Yet, I can’t shake the feeling from time to time that she’s still near.
Maybe it will always be that way? “I don’t know.”
Whatever the deal is, she’s certainly not suffering anymore, which in my mind is a good thing. I can sleep soundly knowing that.
Once I get the manuscript for my book completed, I’ll be putting her name on the dedications page. Looking back on things, I think she’d like that.
