Sunday, September 20, 2026: 7:08 PM: The latest blood test results weren’t exactly what I wanted. But I know where I went wrong and will be correcting that. I will be below 200 by December. My cholesterol went up 14 points instead of down another 28 like it did in June. But no worries. I know how to fix that with or without Dr. Hansen’s help.
I do need to start looking for another Doctor soon. The trips with Uber were expensive enough back in March. The way things are now, I’m not going to waste my resources to reach a doctor who, in my mind, doesn’t hear me.
Maybe that’s why he’s got so many complicated onions (as he apparently sees a majority of his long-time patients as) to deal with. He’ll probably be relieved when his staff informs him that I’ve canceled my next appointment.
In the meantime, Dr. Eric Samual Hansen will either work with me or he won’t. I know what I want to do and to simply shut up and take the drugs is not on my list.
I’m not opposed to getting a Invitae Familial Hypercholesterolemia Panel done to see if my cholesterol runs high due to genetics. That to me makes more sense than popping a pill that masks a problem rather than solving it. He can either get onboard with that test or something like it or he won’t.
The American Medical Profession in general sucks. They tell you not to worry about things when you’re in your twenties and thirties and then after forty everything is a big problem. Then suddenly your problems are just age related. Bad advice has nothing to do with it, don’t you know? They would never have given you bad advice when you were younger. You must have heard them wrong or are suffering from dementia. “What do you mean it’s all about the money?”
Then there’s the insurance matter. It’s pretty clear to me that us people on Medicare and Medicaid are just filler for when the medical practices we visit are slow. We’re really not people to the majority, are we? Of course, when doctors like Dr. Eric Hansen in Vernon NJ are starting out, they are happy to work with those of us on Medicare, at least. But… These days… Well… “Things have clearly changed.”
I still wonder how much responsibility Hansen (DO) takes for the growth of his now overly complicated onions. But I guess it doesn’t really matter at this point.
I know what I have to do. That’s what really matters.
Medical profession be damned. I’m done playing games. We’ll see how the federal government cleans up the insurance situation with Medicaid and Medicare Fraud and other abuses. Maybe I go kinetic (figuratively speaking) at some point down the road and maybe I won’t have to. “We shall see.”
