The mystery of why my PA client couldn’t seem to participate in a video chat via her browser online yesterday is about to be cleared up this afternoon. Unfortunately, you can not diagnose the video and sound on a local machine using Remote Desktop. But… After reviewing browser permissions, “I spy a solution!”
So… When I connect with my client later on today, we should be able to work things out in short order. One part of things could be that the permission profile for the site she was using for the chat is corrupted. “That’s an easy fix.”
The second possibility is that the Webcam being used has finally said, “Enough,” after nearly a decade of service. “That fix involves a trip to the store!”
Sometimes, too, people forget to give the browser permission to access their camera and microphone. And… It would seem that Edge can’t be set to allow that kind of access across the board anymore. “Privacy paranoia don’t you know!”
However, this time around, the permissions for the site in question have been set correctly. So… Either the microphone/webcam combo is shot or the profile for that site simply needs to be deleted and recreated again by revisiting the website the chats are run through. Either way, “We’ll getter done!”
