Today was a bit long, me only having gotten an hour and a half’s worth of sleep, if that, by the time 8:00 AM rolled around. I did manage to get another two hours in this afternoon upon returning from lunch at Villa Capri’s with my friend who works at a sheriff’s department here in North Jersey and am hoping for a normal night’s sleep tonight. But… “We shall see!”
The day was slow moving for the most part, which is why not many things will have changed on Brian Schnabel’s Head space, today. But… “It’s allowed!”
I couldn’t believe what I was hearing when I went to grab the mail while waiting to meet up with a friend who had stuff to drop off for me before we headed out to dinner. I heard the alarm in the building down the driveway from mine going off but figured it was another false activation. So, when the fire department rolled in, I wasn’t surprised until I actually realized upon stepping outside to go get the mail that, “There really was a fire in the other building!”
So, I immediately called my friend to let them know to wait for me at their complex. When I explained why they were totally down with the change, and we had a nice time out at Burger King before stopping at Weis to pick up a few things we each needed.
From what I’m gathering, the fire revolved around someone’s attempted chicken dinner. I understand that no one was seriously hurt or killed, “Which is a beautiful thing!”
Aside from that? Well… I know better than to believe everything I hear around Newtonian Gardens because of the way the rumor mill works. So long as no one was seriously hurt or was killed, “The details just don’t matter to me.”
I did feel a little unnerved by the event because the meditation I was doing this morning did involve the complex owner and my strong desire for something to happen that would draw the right people’s attention to this place. I know it sounds crazy. But it’s not the first time I’ve had the strange sense that something I expressed at Center had been the catalyst for something that happened in real time a short while later. Once or twice is a coincidence. “But it’s happened way more than that!”
I also don’t believe in coincidences. Maybe I should because I’m pretty sure that sometimes things just happen that weirdly align with what we might want to see transpire. And… No… “Seeing neighbors get hurt or worse is not any part of a meditation I would ever do.”
But while this evening’s event, which kicked off around 4:30 PM, shook me a little, I’m also keenly aware that I am not God. I’m just a dumb blind guy living in the neighborhood that has odd things happen around him and notes other odd things that seem to be connected to his activities in an altered state or, “The other realm.”
Maybe though, this fire had to happen for reasons I don’t know about. It’s hard to say. And… Yeah… Maybe it will give The State of New Jersey, The County of Sussex, and Town of Newton cause to take a closer look at what’s happening on this complex in a new more community safety minded way. One can always dream, “Right?”
