This means that even if your Social Security number appears on the dark web, you are still responsible for protecting yourself, the government making it clear on multiple websites that you should freeze or lock your credit reports with the three major credit bureaus, file your tax return before someone else can misuse your SSN, or set up an online IRS account with a PIN, and create a Social Security account. They give other advice, too, like using 2 factor authentication and keeping an eye on your financial records/transactions. But beyond that, whatever else you want to do is entirely up to you. Some experts say that working with companies like ChexSystems and LexisNexis are essential, too, but something doesn’t feel right to me about that. I have Aura handling some of this for me, and I’ve followed the federal government’s guidance on what to do if your SSN appears on the dark web, which feels sufficient for now.
Wednesday, May 20, 2026: 6:31 PM: Web server activity seems to indicate that my old neighbor, Cassidy Spohn, and/or her entourage have been checking my site of late to see if I’ve written anything about her of late or perhaps to see if that post calling her out for what she did is still here. As I sat outside meditating Monday evening, thoughts about the whole experience involving her and other members of the NJ Mental Health Association started running through my mind. As I began wondering if I shouldn’t simply reintroduce the post again if people were still so damn interested in it, my musings were brought to an end by a short but quick vision in which I heard and saw myself saying to me, “Let it go.” So, I will not bother putting the post back online in its original context and deal with how I want to manage it when the times comes to put that part of this journal online. As to whether or not Spohn and company have been visiting my site, it is only a suspicion that can’t be digitally documented in a way that proves it beyond a doubt by legal definition. It doesn’t mean I’m crazy for thinking Cassidy and friends have been here because knowing her as I did, “She probably has,” and it sure as hell isn’t because she gives a crap about me.
Saturday, May 23, 2026: 7:17 PM: It’s been a slow few days. There’s not really much to report at the moment. Last night, I got a decent night’s sleep after 3 nights in a row of around 3 ½ hours’ worth each night since Tuesday and have been using the Breathe function of Apple’s Mindfulness app since Thursday. While it’s true that there are a few things that have come to light for me intuition wise, the 48-hour ceiling hasn’t been reached. So, I won’t be writing anything down as of yet until at least tomorrow, if at all.
