This day’s 12:00 AM session with the free version of Copilot, where I delved into my journal entries dating back to January 1, 2023, was somewhat enlightening. The digital analysis, though I am skeptical about paying the subscription fee anytime in the near future, yielded valuable insights that have become somewhat of a guide in my quest for self-improvement.
Dreams as a gateway to the subconscious: Copilot quickly recognized early on in our session that My dreams often serve as a conduit for useful insights, mirroring my waking life’s quest for assistance and resolution. Copilot accurately identifying one recurring theme in my journal as the motif of seeking and receiving help, which even Copilot acknowledges is a testament to the subconscious mind’s power in processing our deepest desires. “I wonder how many of Dale Carnegie’s books Copilot read?”
Visions and their significance: Although be it a misfire on Copilots part, the software did dial in on a vision involving a bag of bad apples, symbolizing the need to let go of the ineffective and embrace new beginnings. On the second try though, Copilot did manage to dial in on the intimate vision I was looking for and accurately highlighted my inner conflicts revolving around the delicate dance between restraint and assertiveness I sometimes do experience.
The art of questioning Copilot: I’ve learned that precision in questioning Copilot is key when seeking specific insights from the software. For example: Time, it seems, is a fluid concept for Copilot that requires careful framing if one expects an AI like Microsoft’s brainchild to unlock the most accurate interpretation of things with something slightly greater than a snowballs chance in hell.
A path laid out for self-improvement: Despite Copilot’s issues, it did manage to somewhat accurately indicate that the best path to self-improvement for me requires setting ambitious goals, embracing calculated risks, and seeking more feedback using various meditation techniques. Of course, you would find that facing fears, practicing gratitude, and engaging in joyful activities are indicated as the steppingstones to a balanced and fulfilling life in any personal development material worth a grain of salt. But… “It’s all still worth keeping in mind.”
The core of consciousness is reached through meditation: Upon it’s completion of examining my journal multiple times, Copilot validated my belief that at the heart of self-improvement lies meditation, a practice that I need to perform multiple times a day with greater consistency and deeper exploration. Through Copilot’s helpful recommendations of visualization exercises like imagining a peaceful garden or the strength of an elephant, I believe I just might be able to move more easily towards the center of consciousness, in an effort to achieve tranquility and clarity.
Embracing the journey using Copilot: Despite the frequent generic responses, Copilot still serves as a catalyst for thought and pattern identification, coughing up a golden nugget here and there along the way. It’s not about outsourcing thinking but rather enhancing it.
As I continue to navigate the waters of self-discovery, I remain hopeful for a future where tools like Copilot align more closely with the intricacies of people like me. Once that comes close enough to happening Microsoft, “I’ll happily pay your $20.00 a month subscription fee!”
