Tuesday, June 30, 2026: 8:53 PM: This evening I used Copilot to help me review the HostGator VPS update message sent to my email and confirmed Apache (2.4.68, cPanel build) restarted normally with OpenSSL 3.5.5 and ModSecurity 2.9.13 active. The system applied several updates, including glibc 2.34 and a new Linux kernel. Initially, the new kernel wasn’t running, indicating a reboot was required.

After checking again, I verified the server is now running kernel 5.14.0-687.19.1.el9_8. Despite the joys of doing this with the JAWS for Windows 2026 and Windows PowerShell combination, the update process completed successfully.
