I guess based on the email message that I received in my inbox yesterday, us residents of Newtonian Gardens are set to experience some improvements in our living environment. Goldberg Realty has announced plans for stairwell painting and the installation of new handrails.
To facilitate these upgrades, us residents have been asked to cooperate by clearing personal items from the hallways. Specifically, we need to:
- Remove any personal items hung on the walls outside our apartments.
- Ensure that all personal items are taken off the hallway floors.
- Comply with fire safety regulations by keeping these areas clear at all times.
- Note that items left in these areas will not be allowed back after the renovations.
- Avoid attaching anything to apartment doors or common hallway doors.
Goldberg Realty says the deadline for removing personal items is set for Sunday, August 11th. We were also thanked in their email for our understanding and cooperation during this period of enhancement.
So basically, what it boils down to is that they need us to remove obstructions we’ve placed in the stairwells so they can do their thing. But beyond that, as far as what will be allowed back and following the fire code goes, it’s just more of the usual bullshit line landlords who selectively follow the law and enforce leases like to feed their tenants other wise known as, “Cheap talk!”
