Rewriting the book on dirty laundry.

Got a nap in while waiting for the laundry to finish up in the drier in the laundry room here at Newtonian Gardens. The sun came out as I woke and headed downstairs to collect my dry clothes and now, “Here we are!”

This time around though, I won’t just be folding, hanging and otherwise putting stuff away. I’ll actually be counting things out to see just what I actually used during the week and a half since I actually did wash the last time.

The name of the game here is to make sure I don’t fall into the trap of wearing everything I have before doing the wash again. So, once I have a tally of what I’ve actually been wearing… Well… “Everything else can go into storage for future use.”

I’m figuring that it’s just going to be a lot easier to manage things this way, me usually doing a wardrobe change two or three times a day as needed, enabling me to recycle clothing a bit since I’m only wearing one outfit for two or three hours tops during the course of a day. I generally wear shorts and a t-shirt around the house and change into other clothing when I go out with others, or simply for a cruise around town on my own.

Other than socks and underwear, I don’t generally have too much else to wash unless it’s hotter than hell outside or I’m working up a sweat walking. The name of the game here is to make life easier and give myself some incentive to do laundry at least once a week. In the mean time, the rest of the stuff I have can be kept on ice, “Until I decide I might need to change things up a bit!”

It will be interesting to see how this all goes. From where I sit right now though, “This is an excellent plan!”
